What We Do

Our aims and principles aren’t just words on a piece of paper, they are a direction that we strive to see our communities and our world move toward.

Anarchism is, admittedly, an unpopular political goal. Even more than unpopular it is misunderstood, and is purposefully and consistently portrayed in insane terms by big business media.

For anarchist ideas to begin to grow in Buffalo, it’s obvious that we need to produce and distribute our own media. The Buffalo News isn’t going to accurately discuss anarchism any time soon, so it’s up to us to spread our ideas. Something we’ve committed to.

Of course, we also need to educate ourselves and the broader community about what anarchism is, its presence in struggles throughout the world for the last 150 years, and how those ideas can address many of the problems that our communities face.

However, learning doesn’t only happen by reading and discussing, but in large part happens through experience. We refuse to be armchair revolutionaries crafting the perfect world and the perfect strategies to get there knowing they would collapse in the open air of everyday politics and struggle. We will actively engage in the many movements against those that oppress us and to build our own power as exploited and oppressed peoples. We are community members fighting for better housing, students fighting for a say in our education and against tuition hikes, workers fighting for decent wages and health care, neighbors fighting against police abuse, we are revolutionaries intent on challenging our oppressors at every turn. As an organization Buffalo Class Action and its members will participate in these movements while constructively examining their greater potential to move us toward a truly free society.
